Clothing Design 101

Last month, Publisher Kay Sauck and I made the trip to Plymouth, Minnesota to meet contributing fashion author Alyssa Cox and to tour the Christopher & Banks headquarters. It was awesome! The building was huge and, around every corner, there were colors, fabric swatches, pattern ideas and bulletin boards full of inspiration. It was such a creative environment.
Every season, Alyssa shares her fashion expertise with Womeninc readers. She is the director of trend, CAD and color which, I found out, means she’s responsible for developing the color palettes and setting the themes of the clothing collections. She also oversees the development of original print and pattern designs for both the Christopher & Banks and CJ Banks brands.
What a huge job!
It was really great meeting Alyssa. She has a kind heart and a fun personality… and one of the coolest jobs I’ve ever seen! Be sure to check out her fashion tips in upcoming issues of Womeninc. Her fabrics, colors and creativity will have us all looking good this season.
