Another Look: Inside Bonnie Mohr’s Home Studio
by Katie Honnette on April 5th, 2011 in Blog
Inspiration surrounds artist Bonnie Mohr on her farm near Glencoe, Minnesota. Twenty two years ago, she discovered a way to combine her love for agriculture with her talent for painting to create a successful business. With every brush stroke, she captures the beauty and authenticity of rural America. Overflowing with inspiration, Bonnie has built a name for herself by painting her favorite subject: cows. As a wife and mother of five children, she has learned the delicate art of balancing family with work. And, after 22 years of painting, she looks forward to pursuing the next phase of her career: inspirational art.
As promised in this issue, here are more photos from our interview with Bonnie Mohr:

Bonnie does all her paintings with oil on both canvas and masonite board. From start to finish, it takes her three to four weeks to complete a painting.
Bonnie sells prints and gift items at a store located on their farm.

Bonnie carries a camera with her at all times. “The photos I take are a tool to help me do the best job I can to produce the message I’m trying to portray,” she says.
“I wanted to paint cows; basically I am passionate about them. I grew up on a farm and I know cows; I know how they look, how they walk. I know how they chew, trot and kick,” Bonnie says. That innate knowledge of her subject matter carries through in the authenticity of her work.
