Permanent Cosmetic Tattooing

Mankato, MN 56001

(507) 388-7500

Staci Lowe is an independent contractor at Salon 07 offering a wide variety of services. She is a stylist, colorist, makeup artist and permanent cosmetic tattooist (permanent makeup).

When did you start your permanent cosmetic business?
I first saw tattooing at a trade show in 2000. Shortly after, people in the area started to ask about the tattooing and some were getting it done, so in 2002 I had my first training. I started tattooing and love it. Customers were coming in with tattooing mishaps and needing color changes. I didn’t always know what to do, so in 2007 I went to Texas and went through school. That was a great learning experience!

Was this your childhood dream?
Yes, as long as I can remember I wanted to be in this business.

Who has been your greatest mentor and why?
I have two mentors: My mom Luci and my grandma Joyce. These two women have been the strongest, most empowering people in my life. Both good and bad, they have showed me that if you want something, you work as hard as you can and let nothing get in the way. All the love, passion and strength they have shown has shaped me into being the strong, empowering, hard working, loving person and the dedicated  business woman that I am. I am thankful for both of them.

What is the best business advice anyone has ever given you?
To go for my dreams.

What advice do you have for anyone starting a business?
Advertise, believe in yourself and do it. Be honest and loving.

What makes your business enjoyable?
The enjoyment I have for my job and all who share it with me; how lucky we are. My job is like playing, talking and laughing with my friends all day. No two days are the same. Who wouldn’t love to make people look and feel beautiful?

Is there anything you would change about it?
To have more hours in a day.

Is there anything that would help others prepare for your line of work?
My advice would to be learn all that you can from as many people as you can. Take all of that and turn it into being your best.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Cosmetic tattooing is a safe procedure. As long as you find someone who knows what they are doing, you will love to have it. It allows you to look “bright eyed and bushy tailed” and to always look your best.
